Latin school begins its third year in Illinois

Latinitas Oremus, a Galesburg-based weekly home school Latin language school for
children ages 6 through high school, will begin its third year around
Labor Day.

Students study the Latin language, learn about Roman and Medieval
culture and history and study other related subjects like Gregorian
chant, calligraphy and Latin roots of English words. Classes in ancient
Greek also are available.

The Latin classes meet from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Mondays at 325 N. Prairie
St. The Greek classes meet from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays at the same
location.

Instruction is free, but there is a small fee for materials.
