Children's fiction about Pompeii

The IndyStar reviews a book that inhabits Caroline Lawrence territory.

Kathryn Lasky writes a compelling story of the last days before the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in “The Last Girls of Pompeii.” As the title suggests, two girls are saved as they are able to escape the ancient city in A.D. 79 before they are either buried alive by volcanic rock and ash or killed by the poisonous gas that Vesuvius released.
