Palace offers 2000 years of history in a day
A WEST Lothian tourist attraction is offering visitors the chance to see what life would have been like during the times of Romans, Vikings, knights and medieval courts this weekend.
Actors will recreate scenes from bygone eras at a special event on Sunday at Linlithgow Palace.
Among the ruins of the palace, which was the residence of the Stuart kings, stories and skirmishes from 2000 years of Scottish history will be recreated.
Called “Time Palace”, the day-long Historic Scotland event will also offer people the chance to see one of the most iconic time machines from the silver screen – the famous DeLorean car that was featured in the Back To The Future movies.
Nick Finnigan, events manager for Historic Scotland, said:
“Visitors will encounter everything from Roman times and the Viking period right up to soldiers and vehicles from the Second World War.”
The event takes place from 12.30pm to 4.30pm on Sunday. Tickets are £6.50 for adults and £4.50 for children.
