A merry bunch at the TES Staffroom

You may be familiar with the Times Educational Supplement message board, which they call TES Staffroom. The Classics teachers congregate here.

There has recently been a merry colloquy about singing in Latin, with a whole lot of newly minted translations of songs of various types. You will find the first of the 134 (to date) posts here.

Some references are made to the ARLT song book, and one contributor laments the lack of really simple songs with lots of repetition, for classroom use. Rouse's songs were carefully designed to go with his teaching methods, but the ARLT songbook is chiefly for teachers to sing when we meet. What about someone writing some new songs to go with particular stages of the Cambridge Latin Course and the other popular courses?

These audio files are not the high quality ARLT productions, which concentrate on verse set texts, but a personal contribution by the Blogger, offered for what they are worth.
